What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small piece of information stored on or accessed from your device when you visit a website.
Similar technologies can perform related functions without necessarily using a traditional browser cookie.
How Fart Registry currently uses cookies
Fart Registry has been designed to operate without unnecessary tracking.
We do not currently intentionally use cookies for:
- behavioural advertising;
- cross-site advertising profiles;
- personalised advertising;
- social-media advertising pixels; or
- selling information about your browsing activity.
Strictly necessary technologies
Fart Registry uses a strictly necessary PHP session cookie when you use protected parts of the website, including the emission registration form. This session cookie is used for security purposes and to associate the registration form with a temporary server-side session.
In particular, the session is used to support anti-abuse measures such as form security tokens and submission timing checks. It is not used for advertising, behavioural profiling or cross-site tracking.
The session cookie is configured to expire when the browser session ends. Blocking it may prevent the emission registration service from working correctly.
The website or its hosting infrastructure may also use cookies or similar technologies where they are necessary for functions such as:
- website security;
- network management;
- load balancing;
- fraud or abuse prevention;
- maintaining requested website functionality; or
- protecting forms and technical services.
Where a technology is strictly necessary to provide a service requested by the user, it may operate without an optional cookie consent choice.
Analytics
Fart Registry does not currently intentionally deploy Google Analytics or comparable third-party behavioural analytics through the website application.
The hosting provider may independently create technical server logs or operational statistics necessary to provide and protect the hosting service.
If optional analytics or other non-essential tracking technologies are introduced, this policy and any required user controls will be updated before those technologies are used where required by applicable law.
Third-party services
Some website functionality may rely on technical resources supplied by third parties, such as hosting infrastructure or externally hosted software libraries.
Loading a resource from a third-party server may cause technical information such as your IP address, browser information and request details to be transmitted to that provider.
The emission certificate service currently uses an externally hosted JavaScript library to generate QR codes in the visitor's browser.
Such third-party resources may be replaced, removed or self-hosted as the website develops.
Browser controls
Most web browsers allow you to view, delete or block cookies through browser settings.
Blocking technologies that are technically necessary for a website may prevent parts of the service from operating correctly.

This policy may be updated when the website introduces, removes or changes cookies, analytics, third-party services or similar technologies.
